What to Expect Your First Week

During your child’s first week at PATCHES, our entire care team works together to get to know your child thoroughly and establish a complete baseline for their care.

Nursing conducts a comprehensive head-to-toe assessment, carefully documenting your child’s current condition so we can track their progress over time. All therapy disciplines — physical, occupational, speech, and others as applicable — evaluate your child’s developmental milestones and assess their growth and development. Our Respiratory Therapist reviews your child’s breathing patterns and medical history to understand their respiratory needs and establish normal readings specific to your child.

This first week is about listening, observing, and learning — so that every aspect of your child’s care plan is built around who they are.
